PRESIDENT MESSAGE

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Flacq.

It is with great humility, gratitude, and pride that I have the honour of serving as President of the Rotary Club of Flacq for the 2026–2027 Rotary year.

Our Club has a proud tradition of service, fellowship, and leadership. For decades, dedicated Rotarians have worked tirelessly to improve lives and make a positive difference in our communities. I pay tribute to our Past Presidents, members, partners, and volunteers whose commitment has built the strong foundation upon which the Rotary Club of Flacq continues to grow and serve today.

This year, Rotary International calls on us to embrace its Presidential Message, "Create a Lasting Impact." It reminds us that the true measure of our success is not the number of projects we undertake, but the positive and lasting difference we make in the lives of others.

Inspired by this message, our Club has adopted "Sustainable Change" as our guiding principle. We believe that meaningful service goes beyond meeting immediate needs. It is about creating sustainable solutions that empower people, protect our environment, strengthen education, improve health, and create opportunities for future generations.

Guided by Rotary's Action Plan, we will focus on four strategic priorities: increasing our impact, expanding our reach, enhancing member engagement, and increasing our ability to adapt. These priorities will shape our decisions and ensure that our service remains relevant, innovative, and sustainable.

During the year, we will continue delivering impactful projects in education, healthcare, environmental stewardship, youth development, and community service. We are equally committed to strengthening partnerships with businesses, public institutions, educational establishments, and community organisations, recognising that meaningful change is achieved through collaboration.

Young people will remain central to our vision. Through stronger engagement with Rotaract, Interact, schools, and young professionals, we aim to develop future leaders, encourage volunteerism, and inspire a lifelong commitment to service.

Within our Club, we will continue to foster a culture of fellowship, integrity, diversity, and inclusion. By encouraging active participation, developing leadership, and welcoming new members who share our values, we will ensure that the Rotary Club of Flacq remains a vibrant and impactful club.

As President, I believe that leadership is defined not by position, but by purpose. Our achievements will always be the result of teamwork, friendship, and our unwavering commitment to Service Above Self.
